“An Insurrectionist Applying for Top Executive Authority of the U.S. Government: Former President Trump Approved for his Bid to Run for President by U.S. Supreme Court, Despite Participating in an Attempted Insurrection”
The writers of the article posted underneath this article, in Politico, acknowledge that as U.S. states, the government was acquiescent to the allowing of the controversial run of Former President Trump (albeit, some states, such as Illinois and Colorado, where a state court rulings banned Trump from the ballot on grounds of an “insurrection ban,” met the presidential bid with resistance). The journalists, Kyle Cheney and Josh Gerstein, expound on the states’ decisions for allowing Trump to run as being with the purpose of upholding order, so as not to create friction between Trump supporters, some of who have a tendency toward domestic extremism, and the rest of the U.S. populace. But when upholding an illegal presidential bid, undermining the rule of law, the Supreme Court and state governments (albeit, with the exception of some states), by allowing a former president who committed the illegal act of an attempted insurrection on January 6, 2021, defying the American democracy tradition and aiming to circumvent a popular and electoral majority by violent coercion— by allowing this to continue, these sovereignties and this national institution merely create ground for disarray, rather than being beneficial forces that engender more order and harmony. And that is precisely what they have enabled by allowing Trump to run for high office.
