We need to work together as the East and the West to help the Near East and North Africa achieve peace and stability and overcome this disagreement and misunderstanding. The East and the West together need to reach peace, harmony, and oneness, but with a antisemitic war beginning to be waged in the Middle East, the center needs to hold to avoid chaos and upheaval. Peace in Israel and Palestine is not a call for just national, or even transnational solidarity, it is a call to share our common humanity and ensure Jewish people have a prosperous and safe homeland, the homeland they inherit from Abraham under God’s covenant with them. After all, we all inherited the fall and fallenness from our two consistent ancestors, Adam and Eve and we are all called to enter God’s body and join in the unity of Christ, making us de facto one human family. The human family can resolve this issue with applying patience, compassion, understanding, thoughtfulness, and love.

Connected to Israel’s sudden declaration of war on Hamas, in response to Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel on October 7th of this year, a rocket inexplicably and accidentally hits an unintended target in Egypt. The world needs to call upon respect for the U.N.’s General Assembly resolution for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to allow time for diplomacy and much needed humanitarian aid to get into the occupied Palestinian Territories and to ensure this up kick in violence does not widen into a regional conflagration.
